Assembling glazes is a workshop focusing on sharing the knowledge behind glaze making whilst using circular resources. In line with the vision of vuur collective, the activities will delve into the application of raw materials that compose glazes and their impact. Following a hands-on approach, Benedetta, Hannah and Yuval will show how to reuse resources, prepare and apply the glazes on objects handbuilt by the participants themselves.
vuur collective
vuur collective is a shared ceramic workshop/playground/research hub in Amsterdam West exploring sustainable, locally sourced, and regenerative materials, co-founded by Yuval Harel, Benedetta Pompili, and Hannah Rose Whittle.
Central to vuur is a commitment to participatory learning and accountable sourcing of raw materials. On the one hand the collective offers a non-institutional platform where makers, artists, and designers can engage with circular materials and collaborative research through workshops, events and lectures. On the other hand, members can make and learn through hands-on experimentation, sharing tools, methods, and findings to build a growing and site-responsive archive of material practices.
